Recyled Shirts Are In

We've just received the newest in earth friendly products...Recycled Cotton T-shirts! Anvil Knitwear is now offering their most popular styles of shirts in both organic cotton and recycled cotton fibers. The resulting shirts are extremely soft and and environmentally sound. They are made by collecting textile waste and clippings from new apparel manufacturing, upholstery and trim fabric, industrial fibers and tire cords. The Screens Go Green...Part Deux

As written earlier, Repla Prints has a commitment to lessening our environmental impact. Not through impossible to achieve ideas or radical thinking, but by taking smaller steps to do our part. Our newest change is the removal of aerosol adhesive from our production facility. We have switched over instead to a water based brush on adhesive for holding shirts in place while printing. With the new adhesive comes less airborne solvent particles. Although the old aerosols didn't deplete the ozone, they aren't good for the health of our employees. With the new adhesive comes less waste as well, less spray cans and less paint thinner for cleanup to name a couple. In addition to this, we have also long been involved in digital garment printing with a Brother GT-541 printer. This printer uses zero chemicals and very little electricity. Prints just like an inkjet printer. Also waste is virtually zero since we recycle our used cartridges. We have also changed to a cleaning solution that has very little VOC's and a screen reclamation system that greatly reduces our water consumption. Feel free to stop by our facility for a tour! With more attention turning to the environment, Repla Prints is making some great changes. By dramatically reducing our solvent use, we have eliminated our hazardous wastes. We have switched to low VOC solvents that are more environmentally friendly and allow our employees as well as our community breathe healthier air. With water shortages during this heated summer, we have cut down our water consumption with a new screening system. Our goal is to provide quality. Repla Prints is a Beta test site for Brother International, who created a machine that makes small run jobs cost-effective without the hassle involved with screen printing.
